How Skegness Beach Is Specially Prepared For Your Fun!

Ok, so it's great news that our very own Skegness Beach, along with another seven beaches, five of them local, has been given an award for their water quality. But what our Newsletter would like to highlight, is how our sand is kept clean as well.
If you are up early enough, as one of our Newsletter team were, you will see the Skegness Surf Raker crawling across the sand, setting the beach up ready for us to settle ourselves on later that day. This is what our team member had to say:
"I was up early to catch a beautiful sunrise over the North Sea for our Newsletter, and after initially collecting some amazing shots, I sat inside one of the shelters and watched on as the Surf Raker drove up and down the beach, raking up the sand over and over and then releasing what looked like fresh new sand back on the beach. It was doing an fantastic job, as our beach is very busy during the day, along with the donkeys and a very crowded promenade as well. I must have sat for half an hour just watching a job so well done (bye bye sand castles) which shows us that our community is very proud of Skegness and do our best to keep it looking good enough so people just keep coming back time and time again - even the locals."
The photos below were taken by our team member at sunrise in October and belong to The Skegness Newsletter Blog. The video does not belong to us and is taken from YouTube, so if you want to watch the Skegness Surf Raker in action to see how our wonderful beach is prepared for you while you're having your breakfast and packing your beach bag, then just click to watch. And if your children get up early and you don't know how to entertain them, take them for a walk along the promenade. They'll love to watch the Skegness Surf Raker in action. Just remember to keep them off the beach at all times while the Surf Raker is does its job.
